Nur-Sultan is the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, being the world-class modern city where construction is progressing with the supersonic speed. The Monument of Astana-Baiterek is considered to be the major symbol and one of the key sightseeing of Nur-Sultan, representing the very nature of the futuristic architecture of the city. The monument was built in 1996-2002 and is located on the left bank of the Ishim River.
You are welcome to visit Korgalzhyn Nature Reserve located nearby the city, which is praised for its amazing natural landscapes and enchanting lakes, chosen as a home place for the flights of pink flamingos. Besides, you can go to the town of Kokshetau and its neighboring resort area Burabay, the land of blue lakes, coniferous forests and healing mineral springs.
The main dishes are meat. Such dishes as beshbarmak, kuyrdak, kespe, sorpa, pilaf. For the cooking dishes are widely using: lamb, beef, horse meat, and less often camel.
Flour and dairy dishes take the second place after meat products. And on duty dishes, here are baursaks - balls of butter dough, cooked in an large amount of oil and various types of flat cakes from sour and unleavened dough. Often, the Kazakhs eat and container - toasted grains of cereals, squeezed them with milk or tea.
The favorite summer drink of the Kazakhs was and remains airan - sour milk of cows, diluted with water. They drink it to freshen up, flavor them with various broths, seasoned with greens and garlic, it is a bit of a salad. It is very popular with the Kazakhs and koumiss - fermented mare's milk, which is famous for its healing properties.
